I recently received a very exciting package from Hobbes and inside found a couple of gems that got some attention this afternoon.
From Hobbes; a 2004 Baijiguan Yancha and a 2006 Dian Hong!
From Teddy; something a bit older...
Video now; reviews later. Thanks Hobbes, your package was most generous!

That 04 Baijiguan will haunt my dreams for being so good, as will the 06 Dianhong. Both were upstanding, however I wish the same could have been said for that old Xiaguan. How disappointing.
Wow, so tired and tea drunk I meant to write *"Both were outstanding"
Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I'm glad I had a chance to try such an old tea, but I had a lot more fun with the 04 and the 06. Just goes to prove that age isn't always the best indicator of a good tea. Thanks for coming by today buddy; it's been far too long of a time since we last shared a cup of tea. ^__^
Glad they landed safely :)

Hobbes,
Indeed they did land safely! I did a little sleuthing, and there are some very fine teas in that little box I found on my doorstep. Fortunately/unfortunately it was a few steeps in before I realized that some of these would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The Baijiguan was an absolute treat! Likely one of the most delicious teas I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. To that, I can only say your kindness and generosity have yet to be paralled. Thanks again!
best wishes,
jamus~
